Electronic Signature Disclosure and Consent
Please read this before you sign a document sent to you through LossHQ. Last updated November 1, 2026.
Who is asking you to sign
A LossHQ subscriber, usually an insurance appraiser or umpire (the “sender”), has asked you to review and sign a document electronically. LossHQ provides the signing tool. LossHQ is not a party to the document and does not represent you or the sender.
What you are agreeing to
By choosing to sign electronically, you agree that:
- you consent to receive this document and related notices electronically, and to sign it electronically;
- your electronic signature (typed, drawn, or uploaded) is your legal signature on this document and has the same effect as signing on paper; and
- this consent applies only to this document and its related notices.
Your right to paper
You do not have to sign electronically. You may ask the sender for a paper copy, or to sign on paper instead, at any time before you sign, by contacting them directly. The sender, not LossHQ, decides whether any fee applies.
To withdraw your consent before you sign, choose the option to decline on the signing page, or tell the sender in writing. The electronic process then stops for you, and the sender will arrange another way to sign if one is needed. Withdrawing consent after you have signed does not undo a completed signature.
What you need
- a current web browser on a computer, tablet, or phone;
- an email address you can access; and
- a program that opens PDF files, so you can view and save your copy.
If these requirements change in a way that could stop you from opening or keeping your copy, we will tell you before you sign. If your email address changes before signing is complete, tell the sender so they can update it.
What is recorded
To show who signed and when, the signing system records your name, email address, signature, the time of each step (sent, opened, signed), and the IP address used. This record is attached to the signed document as a certificate and kept with the sender’s case record. The LossHQ Privacy Policy explains how that information is protected.
Your copy
When everyone has signed, each signer receives the completed document by email. Please download and keep it. You can also ask the sender for another copy.
